About

An energy company, starting with biomass.

Fazza Holdings Limited is a Tanzanian energy company. We turn agricultural and wood-processing residues into dependable industrial fuel, and we are building toward supplying energy itself: electricity and heat.

Today
Prepared biomass fuel for industrial thermal energy.
Building
Screened feedstock, drying, briquettes and pellets.
Destination
Containerized generation; power and heat sold to customers.

Energy solutions

Two fuels. One industrial standard.

A hand holding unmilled paddy rice grains, each still enclosed in its husk.

Agricultural residue

Rice husk

The hull removed when paddy is milled. Light, free-flowing alternative fuel for kilns and furnaces.

Currently supplied
A large pile of light-brown sawdust and fine wood residue.

Wood-processing residue

Sawdust

Fine residue from sawmilling and timber processing, prepared as a wood-based thermal fuel.

Currently supplied

Next-generation biomass fuels

From loose residue to engineered fuel.

We are developing the capability to manufacture standardized industrial briquettes and pellets.

Rows of compressed biomass briquettes, each with a hole through the centre, strapped in bundles in a warehouse. In development

Biomass briquettes

Compressed biomass: denser, more uniform, easier to store and move.

Format

Made from
Sawdust, rice husk, screened woody residues
For
Industrial boilers, kilns and furnaces
Why
Higher density than loose biomass

Biomass pellets

Small, uniform cylinders for suitable automated combustion and handling systems.

Format
Small uniform cylinders
Made from
Fine, dry, screened biomass
For
Systems with automated fuel feeding
Why
Free-flowing and consistent

Not yet manufactured or offered for sale. Specifications and availability will be confirmed with customers. Product photographs are illustrative.

Feedstock recovery

More residues. Carefully screened.

Accepted

  • Clean, untreated wood
  • Verified agricultural residues
  • Legally and sustainably sourced

Rejected

  • Paint, varnish or coatings
  • Preservative or chemical treatment
  • Glues, resins, laminates (chipboard, MDF)
  • Plastic or metal contamination
  • Other hazardous substances
  • Illegal timber or protected species

Recovered wood is accepted only after inspection. Treated or contaminated wood is not suitable for fuel and is rejected.

Standardized fuel quality

Engineered for consistency.

The objective: fuel with defined, reproducible properties that buyers can specify and verify.

  • Net calorific value

    Usable energy per kilogram

    Laboratory-tested

    Target set by testing
  • Moisture

Water in the fuel as delivered

    Controlled for the application

    Target set by testing
  • Ash content

    Residue left after combustion

    Measured and managed

  • Bulk density

    Raised by densification

    Target set by testing
  • Contamination

    Screened at intake

    Target set by testing

Target values will be set through testing and agreed with each customer.

Why consistency matters to industrial buyers

Predictable handling
Uniform size and flow
Consistent firing
Steadier fuel properties, batch to batch
Simpler logistics
Denser fuel can mean fewer loads
Clear procurement
Specify the fuel; verify it on delivery

Expected benefits of standardized fuel. Actual results depend on the equipment and will be measured.

Operations

From source to customer.

    Source

Rice mills and sawmills. Morogoro today; Kahama and Shinyanga developing.

  2. 02

    Prepare

    Contaminants removed, material conditioned.

  3. 03

    Control

Moisture below 10% typical, 15% maximum.

  4. 04

    Store & move

    Protected storage, planned transport.

  5. 05

    Deliver

Scheduled to site, documented every time.

Biomass handlingIllustrative
Moisture managed from collection
Kept within the agreed specification from source to delivery.
Protected, clean handling
Storage and transport that prevent moisture gain and contamination.
A complete paper trail
Purchase order, delivery note and delivery report for every supply.

Stages are carried out by Fazza or coordinated with suppliers and transport providers.

Our journey

From fuel supplier to energy provider.

Each stage builds the capability for the next.

  1. 1Current

    Biomass fuel supply

    Sourcing, preparation and industrial delivery.

  2. 2In development

    Quality & drying

    Moisture control, drying integration, consistency.

  3. 3In development

    Briquettes & pellets

Standardized densified fuels from screened residues.

  4. 4Future

    Containerized energy systems

Modular biomass energy units at or near customer sites.

  5. 5Long-term goal

    Electricity & direct heat sales

Generating power and heat, sold directly to customers.

The destination

Energy as the product, not only the fuel.

  1. Prepared biomass
  2. Containerized unit
  3. Electricity + heat
  4. Customer site

Stages 2–5 are plans and intentions, not current operations or capacity. Timing depends on investment, partners and market conditions.

Sustainability

Residues, put to productive use.

Residue utilisation
Milling and timber by-products become fuel.
Local supply chains
Sourced in Tanzania, used in Tanzania.
Resource efficiency
Denser fuels move more energy per load.
Fossil-fuel substitution
Where biomass replaces fossil fuel, fossil use can fall. The effect depends on the process and the supply chain.

We publish no carbon or emissions figures and hold no sustainability certifications. Future claims will rest on measured data.
